The Leadership Focus within the online or on campus Master of Science in Criminology degree requires 9-credit hours of coursework. The required courses are outlined below and can be taken online or on campus. Leadership focus curriculum is substituted for existing MSCR courses.
The M.S. in Criminology degree requires 36 credit hours regardless of the focus area pursued. The classes in the leadership track (below) will replace three graduate courses approved by your academic advisor.
Leadership Focus Area
MBAM 602 – Leadership Management Challenge (3 credit hours)
Developed jointly with Aubrey Daniels International, this course will survey key leadership perspectives and prepare the student to utilize technical tools to bring out the best in people. Cross listing: MSM 602.
MBAM 604 – Leadership: Explored and Applied (3 credit hours)
Explores important leadership theories by applying knowledge and skills that enhance individual and organizational performance.
MSM 671 Strategic Leadership (3 credit hours)
Study the techniques necessary for becoming a strategic leader with the skills and competencies needed to mobilize followers and organizations for effective current-day action in preparation for future challenges, threats, and opportunities.
